1. Your Rights Under New Zealand Law
1.1 Eden Greenhouses complies with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA). These Acts guarantee that our products must:
- be of acceptable quality,
- match their description, and
- be fit for their intended purpose.
1.2 Nothing in this warranty limits your rights under these Acts. If there is ever a conflict between this warranty and your statutory rights, your statutory rights under the CGA will always prevail.
2. Warranty Coverage
2.1 Warranty Periods
Eden Greenhouses provides the following warranty cover from the date of shipment for the original purchaser:

2.1.1 The warranty on any replacement parts runs for the remaining period of the original warranty.
2.2 What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship, provided that:
- The product has been correctly installed according to Eden’s installation instructions on a stable, level foundation designed to avoid water ponding.
- The product is maintained according to reasonable care guidelines under section 3.1.
- The product is used in appropriate environmental conditions and not subjected to misuse.
If your warranty claim is accepted, Eden Greenhouses will:
- Repair or replace the defective component at no cost within the first 3 months (including standard freight within New Zealand).
- After the first 3 months, replace the part free of charge (excluding freight or installation costs) for the remainder of the warranty period.
3. Important Responsibilities & Maintenance
3.1 Care & Maintenance Guidelines
To help preserve your glasshouse and maximise its lifespan, you must:
- Wash all glass, aluminium frames and gutters with pH-neutral cleaners approximately every three months to remove dirt, fertiliser or salt residues.
- Service door mechanisms and auto-vent openers annually.
- Ensure fasteners are not left corroded; replace if necessary.
- Maintain adequate ventilation
3.2 Site Compliance
3.2.1 It is your responsibility to ensure your chosen installation site complies with all local council, building, or zoning requirements. This does not affect your rights under the CGA.
4. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
4.1 Damage from Incorrect Use or Maintenance
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, including not following Eden’s instructions supplied as written guide, how-to-assemble videos and the technical support line for customer installations.
- Breakage of glass during transport, handling, or installation by the customer.
- Issues arising from neglecting basic maintenance as outlined in section 3.1.
4.2 Environmental or External Factors
- Damage caused by exposure to wind speeds exceeding 130 km/h, floods, earthquakes, fires, cyclones, tornadoes, lightning, hail, volcanic activity, or other Acts of God.
- Water ponding, foundation movement, or soil subsidence.
4.3 Chemical & Physical Contamination
- Corrosion from contact with soil, ash, fertilisers, moisture-retaining products, treated timber, or dissimilar metals (e.g. copper, lead).
- Damage from harsh chemicals, fumes, or cleaners not recommended.
4.4 Storage or Handling After Delivery
- Damage occurring during transport or storage after delivery but before installation.
4.5 Coatings & Fasteners
- Underside corrosion caused by condensation, humidity, or pollutants generated inside the glasshouse.
- Failure arising from not replacing corroded fasteners or using incorrect types.
4.6 Other Specific Exclusions
- Fasteners and weather strips.
- Any post-installation coatings or non-approved treatments applied by the customer.
5. Making a Warranty Claim
5.1 How to Claim
To make a warranty claim:
- Submit your claim in writing within 30 days of discovering the defect.
- Provide your name, address, contact details, invoice or purchase reference, details of the issue, and photographs if possible.
5.1.1 Eden Greenhouses reserves the right to:
- Inspect the product onsite or request it be returned for inspection.
- Accept or decline the claim in line with this warranty and the CGA.
5.2 Consequential Losses
Eden Greenhouses is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, except where this is not permitted under the CGA.
6. Additional Information
6.1 This warranty is offered in addition to your statutory rights under the CGA.
6.2 Replacement parts supplied under warranty inherit the remaining original warranty period.
